Michael Saylor’s Bitcoin Treasury Company Strategy Used Proceeds from Share Sale to Buy Bitcoin! Here Are the Details
Strategy, one of the largest institutional Bitcoin investors in the cryptocurrency market, continues to accelerate its Bitcoin purchases through a share issuance under its new financing model.
The company reportedly purchased approximately 1,420 Bitcoin through its STRC shares issued in a transaction on Monday.
With this transaction, Strategy completed one of the largest single-day issuances to date for its STRC perpetual preferred stock product. The proceeds from this transaction were used directly to finance Bitcoin purchases.
According to the data, STRC shares reached a trading volume of approximately $300 million on Monday. This figure is more than double the average trading volume of approximately $124 million over the past 30 days.
Analysts say this strong increase in trading volume is directly linked to the company’s new capital raising activities.
Strategy also updated its sales agreements to increase financing flexibility. The company revised its sales agreement, known as the “Omnibus Sales Agreement,” allowing multiple brokerage firms to conduct share sales outside of normal trading hours.
This arrangement reportedly allows the company to raise capital more flexibly through STRC shares.
Strategy has long been known for its institutional-scale Bitcoin accumulation strategy. The company management plans to continue its model of investing in cryptocurrency using traditional financial instruments. Analysts, however, believe that financing tools like STRC could increase institutional investors’ indirect access to the Bitcoin market.
