Bhutanese Government Continues to Transfer Bitcoin to Cryptocurrency Exchanges! Here Are the Details
The Bhutanese government’s cryptocurrency transactions have once again come to the forefront. According to information shared by the onchain data platform Onchain Lens, a total of 319.7 Bitcoin was transferred from a government-linked wallet to two separate wallets. This movement attracted attention because it was seen as a sign of a potential sell-off in the markets.
According to the analysis, one of the wallets to which the transferred $BTC was sent is believed to belong to a cryptocurrency exchange. The other wallet is said to have been previously used for sales transactions via OKX or Galaxy Digital. This strengthens the interpretation that the transfer may not be just a wallet change, but a potential preparation for a sale.
Bhutan has attracted attention in recent years for its cryptocurrency mining activities and reserve management. The country is particularly known for mining Bitcoin using its hydroelectric power resources, and it is claimed that it occasionally releases the $BTC it obtains into the market.
Experts note that such large-scale transfers may create selling pressure on the market in the short term, but the impact may be limited compared to the overall market size. On the other hand, there is no official confirmation as to whether the transaction was definitely for selling purposes.
Crypto market participants continue to closely monitor wallet activity believed to belong to the Bhutanese government.
