Santiment Names Six Top Trends: “These Are the Market’s Most Trending!” – Bitcoin (BTC) Takes the Lead, Some Altcoins Surprise!

On May 8, 2026 by voice

Bitcoin and altcoins have been on an upward trend in recent days. While $BTC rose above $82,000 during the week, cryptocurrency analysis company Santiment recently revealed the most popular altcoins in the cryptocurrency world.

According to Santiment, investors are showing strong interest in altcoins such as Bitcoin ($BTC), Cardano ($ADA), Avalanche ($AVAX), 1inch ($1INCH), Monero ($XMR), and Toncoin ($TON).

Bitcoin led the trending cryptocurrencies in the last 24 hours, surprisingly followed by $ADA, $AVAX, $1INCH, $XMR, and $TON.

The most popular cryptocurrencies in the crypto sector and the reasons why are listed below:

Bitcoin: $BTC has been in the spotlight recently due to increased institutional and retail investment, significant ETF inflows, and price movements around $80,000.

Cardano: Social media users argue that $ADA is a long-established Layer-1 token that has underperformed for years compared to many altcoins. $ADA is gaining attention because of these discussions.

Avalanche: On social media, $AVAX’s high-speed Layer-1 features (instant certainty, customizable subnets, staking security) are highlighted, and its subnet-centric developer/game adoption is praised.

$1INCH: It’s making headlines due to a recent hack. TrustedVolumes, a third-party liquidity provider and market maker integrated with 1inch, was exploited after attackers misused an RFQ swap proxy and established wallet confirmations, draining approximately $5.8–6.7 million from WETH, USDC, USDT, and WBTC.

Monero: On social media, Monero’s critical role in the privacy sector is being discussed amid debates about its fungibility and financial oversight. Discussions include the scope of Monero upgrades and privacy-preserving transactions.

Toncoin: $TON is making headlines because Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced that Telegram will take on a leading operational role on the $TON blockchain and act as the largest validator.
