xStocks Holders Gain Voting Rights via Broadridge and Payward

On August 5, 2026 by voice

The deal aims to bridge a critical gap between traditional equities and their blockchain counterparts. By enabling more than just trading, the partnership allows investors to hold tokenized securities while actively participating in corporate governance.

xStocks Adds Voting Rights for Investors

Through the integration of Broadridge’s corporate governance platform, holders of eligible tokenized shares can now receive invitations to general meetings, review proxy materials, and cast their votes via ProxyVote.com.

Access is managed through Web3 authentication, allowing investors to use their own crypto wallets instead of traditional user accounts. This approach integrates the voting process directly into the blockchain ecosystem while maintaining the security and auditing standards expected in traditional capital markets.

Payward emphasizes that the ultimate goal of tokenization extends beyond faster trade settlement. It is about providing the full spectrum of rights associated with company ownership, including a seat at the table for shareholder decisions.

Broadridge Connects Traditional Markets with Blockchain

As a leading provider of corporate governance infrastructure, Broadridge processes millions of shareholder votes annually. This partnership expands the company’s platform to service tokenized securities, bringing institutional-grade tools to the digital asset space.

The solution ensures the digital distribution of shareholder materials, the submission of voting instructions, and full process traceability using infrastructure already widely adopted across traditional capital markets.

Broadridge maintains that investors should not have to choose between the technological advantages of blockchain and the fundamental rights they receive as shareholders of conventional financial instruments.

Payward Accelerates Tokenized Asset Development

The announcement comes as Payward continues to scale its xStocks ecosystem, which currently features over 500 tokenized assets, including stocks, ETFs, and IPO investments.

The company plans to soon introduce tokenized shares from the UK, Europe, and Asia, moving beyond its initial focus on US-listed companies. According to Payward, xStocks is already the most-traded framework for tokenized stocks by total transaction volume, offering the broadest asset selection among competing platforms.

These tokens are backed 1:1 by the underlying securities and are compatible with centralized exchanges, self-custody crypto wallets, and decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.

Corporate Governance Becomes Central to Tokenization

This partnership signals a shift in the Real World Asset (RWA) industry. While early efforts focused on the technical act of tokenization, the sector is now moving toward providing the full suite of rights that accompany security ownership.

Integrating voting rights and official corporate communications may make tokenized stocks more attractive to institutional investors. These players typically require the same governance and shareholder protection standards found in regulated capital markets.

By expanding xStocks and integrating Broadridge’s systems, Payward aims to position tokenized shares as a legitimate alternative to traditional infrastructure for owning and managing interests in publicly traded companies.
