88% Faster? Binance Smart Chain Upgrade Pushes Throughput to 2,324 TPS
The official $BNB Chain X account reported higher throughput on the $BNB Smart Chain (BSC) testnet as BEP-675 testing gained momentum.
BEP-675 lets block builders submit a fully executed block instead of a bid, so validators skip re-executing it before sealing. The benchmark was conducted on QANet, an internal testnet designed to mirror BSC’s cross-region validator topology.
88% higher throughput on BSC Testnet.
BEP-675 increased throughput from 1,237 to 2,324 TPS by removing redundant block execution, with no change to the 450ms block interval or finality lag.

Throughput increased by 88% from 1,237 to 2,324 TPS with redundant block execution removed, but with no change to the gas limit or block interval. BEP-675 reduces the tradeoff between higher gas limits and shorter builder windows, giving BSC more room to scale throughput, and is part of the H2 2026 roadmap alongside FOCIL and Block-Level Access Lists.
The next step is testing whether the same gains will hold at mainnet scale and alongside the other H2 2026 upgrades. BEP-675 will be implemented alongside further performance tuning to boost network capacity. Builder processing efficiency will be strengthened through BAL integration and EVM execution refinements.
$BNB Chain follows through on H2 2026 commitment
In its H2 2026 Tech Roadmap, $BNB Chain revealed three commitments for the second half of 2026, the first of which is to double throughput, with the immediate objective being a 2x increase on the BSC mainnet, while aiming toward a long-term 10x improvement for $BNB Chain.
Second is advanced resource isolation, which will minimize cross-application interference. Third, to lower the barrier, gas fee structures will be refined to reduce entry costs for both Web2 and Web3 enterprises to encourage adoption.
The $BNB Chain H2 roadmap is focused on three priorities, including core execution for faster and steadier performance; second, ecosystem growth, adding more support for builders and institutions; and an innovation pipeline including building the next-generation L1.
In the first half of 2026, BSC slashed block intervals to 450 ms, brought in-memory finality down to 650 ms, and nearly doubled benchmark throughput. The H2 objective is to double mainnet throughput again, on a stated path toward a 10x improvement across $BNB Chain.
A next-generation L1 architecture is in development to support different use cases for the $BNB Chain ecosystem.
