Bitcoin Price Prediction: BTC Eyes $65.4K Liquidity

On August 9, 2026 by voice

Bitcoin is approaching a key decision zone as $BTC presses toward $65,400 liquidity while holding above its weekly 200-day moving average near $63,800. A sweep of nearby highs could still trigger a pullback toward $62,800-$63,300, while a sustained break above $68,400-$70,000 would strengthen the broader bullish outlook and signal a larger move may be developing.

Bitcoin Nears $65.4K Liquidity as “Staircase Up” Raises Pullback Risk

Bitcoin is grinding higher toward a key liquidity area near $65,400, but Kaz’s chart argues that the slow advance may be vulnerable to a sharper reversal. The setup highlights a possible final sweep above nearby highs before $BTC retraces toward support around $62,800-$63,300.

$BTC is trading just below the chart’s marked $65,336 resistance area after forming a sequence of higher lows and gradual upward steps. Kaz describes the structure as a classic “staircase up,” where price climbs steadily rather than accelerating through resistance.

The bearish interpretation is that this type of controlled rise can leave the market exposed to a faster move in the opposite direction once buyers lose momentum. The chart illustrates that scenario with an initial push above the current range, followed by a projected decline — the “elevator down” portion of the setup.

Before that happens, Kaz identifies approximately $65,400 as an important upside level that remains unswept. The chart suggests Bitcoin could first trade into or slightly above that area to take liquidity sitting around previous highs. Such a move would not automatically confirm a sustainable breakout because $BTC would still need to hold above the resistance zone rather than quickly fall back beneath it.

That distinction makes the reaction around $65,300-$65,400 especially important. A breakout followed by acceptance above the level would weaken the immediate bearish scenario and could signal that buyers remain in control. In contrast, a brief move above resistance followed by rejection would fit the liquidity-sweep setup shown on the chart.

On the downside, Kaz highlights a broad reaction zone between roughly $62,800 and $63,300. If $BTC reverses from the highs, that region becomes the main area to watch for buyers to re-enter. The chart also marks a deeper structural low near $62,223, which provides a clearer invalidation reference for the broader recovery from recent lows.

Kaz also links the setup to weekend trading behavior, suggesting that a Sunday rise could be followed by weakness into Monday. That timing should be treated as the analyst’s scenario rather than a confirmed market pattern.

Overall, the chart presents a short-term bearish risk near resistance within a broader recovery structure. Bitcoin may still test $65,400 first, but failure to hold above that level could shift attention back toward the $62,800-$63,300 support zone.

Bitcoin Compresses Near Weekly 200MA as $70K Becomes Key Bullish Breakout Level

Bitcoin is trading in an increasingly tight weekly range as price holds near its 200-week moving average while remaining below a major resistance cluster around $68,400-$69,350. Daan Crypto Trades argues that this compression could eventually produce a much larger weekly move, with a break above $70,000 needed to strengthen the bullish case.

$BTC is shown near $64,945 on the weekly Coinbase chart, leaving price only modestly above the 200-week moving average at roughly $63,777. That long-term average has become an important reference point after Bitcoin’s sharp decline earlier in the year and the subsequent rebound from below $60,000.

The chart shows Bitcoin repeatedly closing and trading around the weekly 200MA in recent weeks. At the same time, overhead resistance is gradually moving closer. The weekly 200EMA sits near $68,429, while the highlighted bull market support band is around $69,220-$69,350.

Together, these levels create a narrowing technical range between long-term support near $63,800 and resistance extending toward $70,000. As that space contracts, Bitcoin has less room to continue moving sideways without eventually challenging one side of the structure.

Daan expects the compression to eventually result in a weekly candle exceeding 10%, although the direction remains unconfirmed. That projection should therefore be treated as a volatility scenario rather than a guaranteed move.

For bulls, the most important confirmation would be a recovery through the weekly 200EMA and the bull market support band, followed by a sustained move above $70,000. Such a breakout would place Bitcoin back above several major long-term technical indicators at once and weaken the bearish structure visible since the earlier decline.

Until that happens, the $68,400-$70,000 region remains substantial resistance. Repeated rejection below it would keep $BTC trapped near its long-term moving-average support and leave the market vulnerable to another downside test.

On the other side, the weekly 200MA around $63,777 is the immediate level to monitor. Holding above it would preserve the current consolidation structure. A decisive weekly close below that average, however, would weaken the setup and could shift attention back toward the $60,000 area and recent lows below it.

The practical takeaway is that Bitcoin appears to be approaching a decision point. A break above $70,000 would provide the clearest bullish confirmation, while losing the weekly 200MA would tilt the structure toward renewed downside risk.
