According to the analysis firm, trading volumes in the Bitcoin market have decreased significantly, warning investors against possible sharp price movements.

According to K33 Research’s latest analysis, $BTC perpetual futures trading volume on Binance and Bybit has fallen to its lowest level since 2023. Spot trading volume has similarly weakened, dropping to its lowest levels since February 2024.

The analysis firm notes that this significant drop in trading volumes indicates weakening market participation and liquidity. However, analysts point out that despite the decline in trading volume, open positions in Bitcoin futures remain at high levels.

According to K33 Research, this chart shows that the amount of leverage in the market remains high compared to trading volume.

Therefore, this paradox opens the door to sharp movements in the Bitcoin price. This situation could lead to much larger price fluctuations, especially when leveraged positions are forced to be closed.

According to analysts, the combination of low volume and high open interest makes the market more vulnerable to sudden movements caused by liquidations. In particular, Bitcoin faces the risk of experiencing sudden price fluctuations in the coming period.

Finally, K33 Research analysts note that the current low transaction activity in the Bitcoin market should not be seen as a positive or negative signal in itself.
