Galaxy Lets US Clients Borrow Cash Against Bitcoin, Ether and Solana

Galaxy has launched a crypto-backed credit line for eligible US clients, allowing them to borrow against Bitcoin, Ether and Solana without selling their holdings. The revolving facility also accepts staked Solana.
The credit line combines eligible assets under one facility. Galaxy says pledged collateral remains protected and is not rehypothecated, allowing borrowers to access cash while keeping their crypto positions.
Borrowing Against Crypto Holdings
The Crypto Portfolio Line of Credit carries an 8.99% annual percentage rate, with no origination fee and interest-only monthly payments. Clients can generally access funds soon after opening a line and withdraw dollars or USDC for expenses including taxes and property purchases.

Galaxy offers the facility in 40 US states. It starts with a 50% loan-to-value ratio, meaning borrowers can initially access up to half the value of their eligible collateral. Galaxy monitors collateral continuously as its value changes.
Galaxy Expands Lending Business
The launch expands Galaxy’s lending operations after the company introduced GOFR earlier this year, a managed borrowing program for institutional clients.
Separately, Galaxy Research raised its estimate of losses from the Coldcard exploit to 1,789.28 Bitcoin. The stolen funds were linked to 8,865 addresses and had a historical value of about $114.7 million.
