Bitcoin ETFs Close August With $3.52B in Monthly Inflows

August closed with buyers back at the table.

Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recovered from Friday’s $202 million withdrawal, while ether’s uninterrupted run stretched deeper into a third week. The final trading session of the month also left bitcoin ETF assets within touching distance of $100 billion.

Bitcoin ETFs attracted $216.70 million, led by a $205.91 million inflow into Blackrock’s IBIT. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust added $9.24 million, while Fidelity’s FBTC received $6.88 million. Bitwise’s BITB and Morgan Stanley’s MSBT brought in $4.29 million and $3.62 million, respectively.

Vaneck’s HODL recorded the only outflow at $13.41 million. Daily trading value reached $2.36 billion, while combined net assets closed at $99.61 billion.

The session capped a strong August for bitcoin funds. Spot ETFs attracted about $3.52 billion during the month, their strongest monthly buying since October 2025. Bitcoin itself recorded its first positive August since 2021 after gaining roughly 25% during the month.

Ether ETFs extended their inflow streak to 11 sessions with an $87.68 million addition. Blackrock’s ETHA led with $59.94 million, while Grayscale’s Ether Mini Trust added $13.50 million.

Fidelity’s FETH drew $9.27 million, Bitwise’s ETHW received $3.73 million, and 21Shares’ TETH added $1.24 million. Trading value totaled $742.04 million, with net assets closing at $15.61 billion.

Solana and $XRP Assets Converge

$XRP ETFs added $5.64 million, including $4.71 million into Canary’s XRPC and roughly $930,000 into Bitwise’s $XRP fund. Net assets closed at $1.45 billion.

Solana ETFs attracted a smaller $925,010, primarily through Fidelity’s FSOL. Their net assets nevertheless finished close behind $XRP at $1.44 billion.

That near parity is striking because cumulative $XRP ETF inflows stand at roughly $1.67 billion, compared with $1.34 billion for Solana. AUM reflects the current value of underlying holdings rather than subscriptions alone. Solana’s roughly 46% August rally boosted existing ETF positions, while many SOL funds also earn staking rewards that can support NAV over time.

HYPE ETFs recorded no net flows despite $14.72 million in trading volume. Assets closed at $461.54 million.

The month ended with a familiar name driving the largest flows: Blackrock. Yet the broader picture showed institutional demand reaching ether and increasingly established altcoin ETF markets as September begins.
