Broadridge Adds G7 Securities to Tokenized Repo Network

On September 4, 2026 by voice

Broadridge Financial Solutions said on September 2 that it had expanded its Distributed Ledger Repo platform to support G7 securities. In its announcement, the company said the addition enables international market participants to conduct cross-border repo transactions, intraday repo activity and collateral movements through atomic settlement. The release presents the service as live infrastructure rather than a proposed product.

G7 Securities Broaden Eligible Collateral

Broadridge’s DLR platform previously supported tokenized U.S. Treasury collateral for repo transactions, intraday repo and collateral pledges. Adding securities from G7 markets widens the assets that participating firms can mobilize across currencies and jurisdictions. The system synchronizes transfers of tokenized securities and cash in one coordinated transaction, which Broadridge says can reduce settlement risk and operational friction.

The development extends institutional tokenization beyond issuance into financing and collateral workflows. BlockchainReporter has also covered ICE and tZERO’s work on tokenized securities infrastructure, although that initiative focuses on issuance and trading rather than repo settlement.

Broadridge Reports $7.4 Trillion in August Activity

The company reported that DLR processed an average of $351 billion in repo transactions each day during August 2026, totaling $7.4 trillion for the month. Broadridge said thousands of transactions run through the network daily. Those figures are company-reported platform activity and do not represent the value of newly added G7 collateral.

Aggregated DLR data covering repo par value, turnover and trade count is also available to Bloomberg Terminal subscribers through a Broadridge collaboration with Kaiko. That reporting layer gives institutional users another view of activity occurring on the distributed-ledger platform.

The Expansion Targets Cross-Border Financing

Broadridge said the broader collateral set is intended to help firms manage funding, liquidity and high-quality securities across markets. The practical test will be whether participants use the expanded eligibility for cross-border transactions at the scale already reported for the U.S.-focused network.

The update fits a wider effort to bring capital-markets operations onto shared ledgers. For comparison, BlockchainReporter previously examined Canton Network’s institutional transaction activity. Broadridge’s latest step is narrower: it extends an existing repo platform’s collateral reach, without announcing individual G7 participants or a separate blockchain token for investors.
