A $1,000 investment in $XRP on September 18, 2025, when REX-Osprey $XRP ETF (XRPR) – the first United States $XRP spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) was launched, is now worth less than half.
As of September 18, 2026, $1,000 invested in $XRP the same day that XRPR launched is now worth $428.60.
Exactly 12 months ago, this token traded at $3.08; therefore, $1,000 fetched around 324.7 tokens. At the time of writing, $XRP traded at $1.32, down 57.03% over the past 12 months.
As such, the 324.7 $XRP has lost approximately $571.4. On Friday, August 14, 2026, the same portfolio fell to the lowest point of $318.2. However, $XRP price has surged over 33% during the past 35 days, thereby increasing this portfolio by $110.4.
$XRP fundamentals to consider
Although this altcoin’s price has capitulated significantly over the past 12 months, the token has accumulated robust fundamentals. For instance, XRPR has $46.24 million in assets under management (AUM) at the time of publication, based on its official updates.
Meanwhile, this token has seen five other spot ETFs launched in the United States over the past 12 months. At the time of reporting, these funds have attracted $1.7 billion in cumulative net inflows and $1.39 billion in AUM.
The token has also benefited from Ripple Labs’ continued efforts to build payment products that foster institutional adoption. For instance, Hidden Road, now part of Ripple Prime, which processed $3 trillion in transactions last year, and GTreasury, currently known as Ripple Treasury, which cleared about $13 trillion in 2025, are now integrated with the $XRP Ledger (XRPL), as Finbold explained.
Most importantly, this token has gained significant regulatory clarity in the United States, despite the recent delays in the CLARITY Act, a proposed piece of legislation in the U.S. aimed at regulating the cryptocurrency industry, as Finbol reported.
If the token’s price continues its recently established uptrend, amid robust fundamentals, the 324.7 tokens could gain more value.
