This Robert Kiyosaki–inspired portfolio is up nearly 40% in 2025

The prominent investor Robert Kiyosaki is widely known for three things: authoring the best-selling personal finance book Rich Dad Poor Dad, making exceptionally provocative posts on X, and being relentlessly bullish on gold, silver, and Bitcoin (BTC), while remaining mightily bearish on the U.S. dollar.

This year, his long-standing calls on “real money” have been vindicated. Gold is trading at fresh all-time highs, silver has mounted an impressive rally, and Bitcoin has reclaimed record levels after a volatile start to the decade.

To assess just how well Kiyosaki’s favorite assets performed in 2025, Finbold Research simulated a $1,000 portfolio split evenly across gold, silver, and Bitcoin on January 1, 2025. Each asset received an initial allocation of $333.33. By September 23, 2025, the portfolio had risen to $1,372.43, reflecting a 37.24% year-to-date gain.

Gold advanced from $2,658 to $3,754 per ounce, a 43.06% increase. Silver jumped from $29.57 to $43.89 per ounce, representing a 47.5% surge. Bitcoin moved from $94,388 to $113,080, delivering a 21.17% gain. Silver was the standout performer, but all three assets contributed meaningfully to the portfolio’s strength.

‘Rich Dad’s’ investment advice

Kiyosaki’s enthusiasm for precious metals dates back decades. He frequently referenced his investments in gold and silver as early as the late 1990s. His first public acknowledgment of Bitcoin came on August 14, 2017, when he cautiously recommended it on Facebook.

At the time, he warned it was extremely risky and expressed doubts about its long-term prospects, but still suggested it had merit as a hedge. On that day, Bitcoin stood near $4,300, gold at $1,281, and silver at $17. A $1,000 investment split across the three would today be worth over $14,500, underscoring the powerful compounding of his thesis on hard assets.

By September 23, 2021, his rhetoric grew sharper as he warned, “Get gold, silver, Bitcoin, Ethereum before the biggest crash in history,” when Ethereum was worth $3,411. Those who followed the call are comfortably in profit today.

On March 29, 2022, he widened his basket further, tweeting, “Buy more gold, silver, Bitcoin, Ethereum, & Solana before WW3,” at the time Solana was trading at $106.33, since then it has since more than doubled to $218.

Whether or not one agrees with Kiyosaki’s often apocalyptic tone, his favored hedge assets have delivered strong results in 2025. Precious metals surged amid monetary policy uncertainty, while Bitcoin pushed higher on the back of institutional inflows.

In the year to date, his “core three”, gold, silver, and Bitcoinnhave comfortably outperformed most traditional investments, lending further weight to his repeated mantra: distrust fiat, trust scarcity.
