Standard Chartered: Bitcoin Could Hit $200,000 by Year-End
The bank cited the government shutdown in the US and increased institutional investor interest as the main factors supporting this rise.
A report prepared by Geoff Kendrick, Global Head of Digital Assets Research at Standard Chartered, stated that Bitcoin’s recent climb above $121,000 is in line with the seasonal bull trend known as the “Uptober (October Rally)” in the crypto market.
The report emphasized that, unlike past halvings, this bullish cycle has continued without price declines. Kendrick stated that this indicates a structural shift in market dynamics.
The bank also stated that the government shutdown in the US was interpreted by investors as a “search for alternative safe havens,” and this increased their interest in Bitcoin.
Kendrick stated that Bitcoin is no longer just a speculative asset but is also starting to be seen as a “hedge against US government risks.”
In addition, it was noted that the yield correlation between Bitcoin and US Treasury bonds has strengthened, and it was predicted that macroeconomic uncertainties could provide support to the crypto market.
