Outspoken Bitcoin (BTC) critic and gold advocate Peter Schiff has acknowledged holding a small amount of Bitcoin, despite his long-standing skepticism toward the cryptocurrency.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on July 22, Schiff wrote:
“Someone pointed out that I do own Bitcoin. I have some in my Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. But I promised donors that I’d never sell, so it’s like I don’t really own it. The market value is over $6,500. Feel free to contribute to the cause. Bc1q0vxwxsmkjy5t95qpc0mfznl59928grsr4wfa97.”

In addition to Bitcoin, Schiff’s publicly identifiable crypto wallet contains roughly $11,985 worth of digital assets. This includes 29.75 million Physical Gold (GOLD) tokens (valued at around $3,240), alongside smaller allocations in tokens such as Sloth, Buttcoin, Imagen (IMG), SPX, Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), and others.
While Schiff maintains his stance as a staunch Bitcoin skeptic, the presence of BTC and other digital assets in his portfolio reflects the irony of his public persona, and perhaps the ongoing evolution of the crypto conversation, even among its most vocal critics.
