Following the attacks on Iran, US President Donald Trump stated that the operations were progressing faster than planned and that the US was determined to achieve its objectives.
Trump expressed his views on Iran at an event held as part of the Medal of Honor ceremony.
Trump stated that the Iranian regime’s ballistic missile program was rapidly developing before the attack, claiming that Tehran possessed missiles capable of striking Europe and could soon reach a range that would target the United States. Arguing that Iran had not abandoned its efforts to acquire nuclear weapons, Trump said, “A nuclear-armed Iran is unacceptable to the United States.”
Trump stated that the US is continuing its large-scale military operations against Iran, announcing that 10 ships have been destroyed so far. He said the operations were initially expected to last 4 to 5 weeks, but could take longer. Despite this, he said the US is ahead of expectations and will “easily win.”
Trump also stated that they would prevent Iran from financing and commanding armed groups abroad, adding that one of the main goals of the operations was to destroy Iran’s missile capabilities. Calling it “our last and best opportunity,” Trump noted that the US objectives were clear.
