JUST IN: Reports Are Emerging That the U.S. Is Preparing to Invade Iran’s Harg Island

It has been suggested that the US administration is considering additional military options against Iran in order to restore energy flows in the Middle East.
According to reports citing sources close to the matter, Washington is reportedly keeping plans on the table to occupy or blockade Harg Island, one of Iran’s critical oil export points.
The US administration believes this move could serve as leverage to force the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. According to the same sources, a White House official stated that the US might plan military operations lasting approximately a month to weaken Iran, followed by the capture of Harg Island to gain an advantage in negotiations.
Military activity in the region is also attracting attention. According to reports, three Marine Corps units, comprising more than 7,500 soldiers in total, are heading towards the Persian Gulf. This development is interpreted as a step indicating that Washington is more concretely considering military options.
On the other hand, a senior US administration official, speaking to Axios, stated that taking control of Harg Island could be considered as a measure to open the Strait of Hormuz if deemed necessary. However, the official added that no final decision has yet been made.
