Jordi Visser, a 30-Year Veteran Analyst: “Bitcoin Will Set a New Record This Year, But the Situation Is Different for Altcoins”
Jordi Visser, a well-known figure in the financial world, emphasized in a broadcast that global markets have entered a “capacity” phase and that investors must now accept that the era of low inflation and abundant liquidity is over. According to Visser, Bitcoin retains the potential to be the strongest performing asset in this new economic regime.
Visser stated that we are in a process similar to the inflationary fluctuations of the 1970s, reminding that stock market returns have historically been negative during periods when inflation (CPI) has been at or above 4%. The renowned investor stated that the structural increase in oil prices, global supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical risks have made inflation permanent.
Visser stated, “Officially, we have left behind the ‘golden days’ of quantitative easing (QE) and low inflation. We are in a world where governments cannot print unlimited money and debt has peaked.”
Institutional funds, constrained by areas like private lending and real estate, will turn to liquid assets that are traded 24/7 and offer high growth potential. According to the analyst, Bitcoin stands out as the largest liquid pool in this area.
Visser argues that software as a Service (SaaS) and traditional financial assets could become “dead investments” due to the impact of artificial intelligence (AI), predicting that capital will shift to commodities with limited supply and Bitcoin.
Visser stated that institutional investors have now received approval to enter the Bitcoin market, adding, “Bitcoin is the S&P 500 of the digital world. While institutional funds may hesitate to invest in Solana or other altcoins, Bitcoin has now become an accepted ‘belief system’.”
Visser stated that he does not expect stock markets to break new records this year, but argued that Bitcoin will bottom out before the market and then rise. Expecting new records for Bitcoin by 2026, the investor is cautious about altcoins: “Most altcoins will continue to lose value against Bitcoin. 2027 will be a very different transition year for the cryptocurrency world.”
