ampersend and TRM Labs launch real-time compliance screening for AI agents
ampersend, a management platform for autonomous agent payments and operations developed by Edge & Node, has rolled out real-time sanctions screening and counterparty risk controls for autonomous AI payments.
Created in partnership with blockchain intelligence company TRM Labs, the solution enables agents to assess compliance risks and validate counterparties before any transaction is completed, according to a Tuesday announcement.
The launch addresses a major challenge facing enterprise adoption of agentic commerce. While emerging protocols from OpenAI, Stripe, Google, and Shopify establish frameworks for how AI agents conduct transactions, they do not provide integrated mechanisms for screening counterparties or enforcing compliance requirements before payments are executed, as noted by the team.
ampersend’s new capability fills that gap by making compliance enforcement part of the decision-making process. Agents can now evaluate counterparties in real time and block transactions that fail sanctions or risk checks before funds are transferred.
“Compliance is a primary concern at financial institutions, and ampersend now brings the tools and capabilities to meet the standards enterprises require to adopt agentic commerce at scale,” Rodrigo Coelho, CEO of Edge & Node, stated.
“As enterprises and financial institutions move from pilot programs to live agentic workflows, compliance and security cannot be layered in after the fact. We’ve embedded TRM Labs’ institutional-grade capabilities directly into the agent execution layer so regulated buyers can deploy with the same rigor they expect from any mission-critical system,” he added.
The new functionality is available through the ampersend developer toolkit and is aimed at enterprises and financial institutions deploying autonomous commerce systems.
“TRM has always been about getting ahead of risk before it becomes a problem,” Morley Gordon, Head of Partnerships at TRM Labs, commented on the new functionality. “This integration brings that same proactive intelligence to a world where transactions happen between agents, not humans.”
