Expert Analysts: “If Bitcoin Drops Once More, Everything Can Be Reset”
The DeFi Report, a cryptocurrency analysis and research company, shared critical predictions about the future of Bitcoin and general risk assets in its latest macroeconomic analysis. The assessment, which considered the Fed’s interest rate policies, the cooling technology sector, and macroeconomic vulnerabilities, argued that a potential final wave of decline in Bitcoin could reset the market structure, paving the way for a strong start to a new bull cycle.
According to the analysis, although the US economy appears strong on the surface, the bond market and economic indicators suggest that the Fed has not yet completed its interest rate hike process. The fact that 2-year US Treasury yields are trading approximately 55 basis points above the Fed’s federal funds rate indicates that the market is pricing in continued inflationary pressures. At a time when the possibility of two more rate hikes in the remainder of the year is being discussed in the market, significant vulnerabilities such as the slowdown in non-farm payrolls, the decline in employee job turnover rates, the fall in individual savings rates to 3%, and a 25% drop in housing construction are noteworthy.
The NASDAQ index, which experienced sharp gains in recent months fueled by the AI rally, has fallen by approximately 8-9% from its peak, highlighting the decrease in risk appetite and the strong dollar trend. While Bitcoin has shown more resilience compared to stocks, holding around the $65,000 level, there are warnings that a new wave of “risk aversion” selling in general risk assets could also affect the cryptocurrency markets.
Analysts at The DeFi Report state that the crypto market has passed approximately 10 months in a bear season, and that a large part of the time-based correction is complete. However, they suggest that a final wave of capitulation, dubbed a “Rocky Landing,” could occur under pressure from macroeconomic conditions. In this scenario, analysts expect Bitcoin to pull back to the $55,000 level, offering a “deep value” opportunity.
Analysts argue that Bitcoin’s drop to the $55,000 level will completely clear the market bubble, creating a solid foundation for a long-term uptrend in the future.
